Management Science and Information Systems Studies

Year 1

The first two years (called Junior Fresh and Senior Fresh in Trinity) are devoted to laying down the foundations for the senior years.  You will study topics in statistics, management science, business studies, economics, mathematics, computer science and end user computing.

Semester One Modules

Students take the following modules from the School of Computer Science and Statistics:

STU11001 – Software Applications I

(Semester 1, 5 ECTS) The purpose of this module is to provide an introduction to the practical uses of computer applications particularly in the area of spreadsheets, web page design and development, and programming language.

MAU11E01 Engineering Mathematics I (5 credits)

ECU11011 Introduction to Economics A (5 credits)

Semester Two Modules

Students take the following modules from the School of Computer Science and Statistics:

STU11002 – Statistical Analysis I

(Semester 2, 5 credits) An introduction to basic statistical concepts. Students will learn how to explain basic statistical theory, apply the techniques to data and describe and interpret the results of their analyses in a detailed fashion. There will be considerable emphasis on the use of R studio to analyse data.
