Bridge to College helps Transition Year students from Trinity Access linked schools to develop the skills and experience they need to thrive in third level education. We provide a learning experience for the students to become confident learners using technology and teamwork, and help them to develop their critical thinking, communication, creativity and project management skills.
Volunteer Mentors work with the Bridge to College facilitator to deliver the workshop (held on campus) by helping the students complete team tasks and projects in a fun and casual environment. It is a great opportunity for mentors to develop their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, all while having lots of fun! You don’t need to have any specific experience, you just need to be enthusiastic about helping students develop their skills!
There are four weeks of Bridge to College workshops happening between the 21st November and 16th of December. Every week, the workshop runs from Tuesday to Friday. Mentors will be asked to volunteer a 3 hour block of time per week, usually on the same day each week (if you can’t quite do those hours, but still want to volunteer – no problem! Please do fill in the form and come to the information evening anyway!).
If you would like to volunteer, please fill in this form: https://forms.gle/CRPwq6Pk8oAnvDAK9 and come to our information session at Oriel House, 35 Fenian Street, (https://www.tcd.ie/Maps/map.php?b=241) on Thursday the 17th of November from 5pm to 6.30pm.
