Team Korta are the People’s Choice winners at the Universal Design Grand Challenge Awards

Congratulations to Team Korta who won the People’s Choice Award for their Tracking App for Diabetic & Hypertensive Patients. The team is made up of Morgan Cobban, Kate McSweeny, Sulla Montes, Mark Etzelmueller, Svetlana Cvetic, Jakub Slowinski, Ultan O Morain, Ellie Conheady & Ebin Benny.

Team Korta was composed of students from the BA (Mod) Computer Science and MSc in Bioengineering degree programmes.

For the Computer Science students, Korta was their 4th Year Synergy Group Design Project. Synergy is a TCD initiative from the E3 Schools of Engineering, Natural Science and Computer Science & Statistics and Tangent, the Trinity Ideas workspace to address global challenges in humanitarian aid via appropriate technology design, development and delivery.

Korta’s project saw students work with Trócaire and was targeted at patients in Somalia. You can find out more about Team Korta’s project here and from the video here.
