SCSS Laboratory & Student Area Regulations

Regulations

  • Use of the School of Computer Science and Statistics IT facilities is subject to the College IT
    and Network Code of Conduct, which is available to view on the College website.
    (https://www.tcd.ie/itservices/about/policies-terms-and-support-statements/).
  • Observe all signage and pay attention to instructions given by staff.
  • Only SCSS students and students with user accounts are authorised to access these LABs.
  • If you are not scheduled to be in a LAB, please leave promptly if asked to do so.
  • The consumption of food and drink is strictly prohibited in all School laboratories and study areas.
  • Students should not prop doors open or force magnetic locks to gain entry to labs.
  • Students using laboratories or study areas must conduct themselves in a manner that does not cause disruption to other users.
  • Personal belongings must not be left unattended. Unattended belongings will be deposited with College Security staff when found. The School is not responsible for loss or damage of personal belongings.
  • Please leave the area you are using in good order for the next user.
  • You must produce your College ID card on request to a member of staff.
  • Staff are entitled to retain your ID card. (See http://www.tcd.ie/vpcao/administration/recordsawards/id-cards.php).
  • Any student suspected of violating the regulations governing the use of School laboratories or study areas may be reported to the Director of Teaching and Learning (Undergraduate or Postgraduate) or the Junior Dean, as appropriate.
  • The School reserves the right to withdraw access to laboratories or study areas at any time.
  • Please help to ensure that this facility remains available by reporting any misuse to scss@tcd.ie
